Chemical Peels can remove brown spots, improve skin tone, improve acne conditions, and diminish fine wrinkling. We offer a variety of different superficial peels which can be tailored to your individual skin type. The MD Forte glycolic acid peel helps to minimize the signs of photoaging including irregular skin pigmentation, dull-looking skin, and fine lines. Another popular, superficial peel, the Vitalize Peel, provides improvement of hyperpigmentation, fine wrinkles, acne conditions, and scarring. The procedure is a quick "lunch time" peel with minimal to no downtime for patients.

Botox can be used to diminish frown lines that occur along the glabella (the area between your eyebrows), crow’s feet, and upper forehead. All it takes is a few small injections during a ten minute visit and a noticeable improvement may be seen within a week. You can complete a treatment on your lunch break and results last up to four months. Botox has also been proven to be beneficial for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, or severe sweating of the underarms, which is a service that we also provide.
Approved by the FDA, Restylane is designed to match your skin, smoothing wrinkles, sculpting lips or shaping facial contours. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane is able to perform for many months in your skin. The most common area for a Restylane treatment is the nasolabial fold (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). When used for lips or facial contouring, Restylane will add shape and volume to the area. Restylane is able to create volume under your wrinkles, which are then lifted up and smoothed out.
Since no pre-testing is required, a Restylane treatment can be performed immediately. It usually takes about 15 minutes depending on the type of correction you want. Most people find the injections relatively painless, but topical anesthetic may be applied to the area prior to your treatment. You will be able to see the results as soon as your treatment is completed.
The Thermage procedure is an advanced way of tightening skin that uses a unique form of radiofrequency energy to allow the Physician to tighten loose or sagging skin, producing a kind of "lift" without an incision or recovery time. It is the only non-invasive method to tighten loose skin.
With the gentle touch of the device tip, the surface of the skin is cooled, while the deeper tissue, is altered by radiofrequency heating. This not only tightens deeper skin tissue, but jumpstarts new collagen production, which occurs over a period of time. While not a substitute for a surgical facelift, the Thermage procedure can be used on patients with a moderate amount of sagging skin and wrinkles.
Traditional waxing and threading treatments, which essentially rip the hair from the skin, can be quite painful. Most people, however, find laser hair removal treatments to be significantly more comfortable. With a gentle beam of laser light, we may help to resolve your unwanted hair.
Our office is pleased to offer treatment by the Apogee Elite laser, the most recent advance in laser treatment for anyone desiring a comfortable, effective way to remove unwanted hair. Unlike other lasers that may not be able to treat patients with darker skin, the Apogee Elite laser is safe to use on all skin types. Thanks to its advanced, technology, Cynosure’s Apogee Elite works several times faster than other hair removal systems. A woman’s bikini area or a man’s chest can be treated in less than thirty minutes, and smaller areas - such as the underarms or upper lip - can be treated in even less time!
Pulsed light Systems remove pigmented and vascular lesions to improve your complexion with quick and easy treatments. You can correct brown spots caused by years of sun damage or aging along with superficial blood vessels in a few quick and easy sessions.
After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move the Palomar pulsed light hand piece over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that targets the pigmented lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.
Most people experience some mild temporary redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Your treatment provider will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
MOHS Micrographic Surgery is a method of surgically removing skin cancers with microscopic control. This technique provides the highest cure rates and minimizes scarring. Dr. Sax is a recognized expert in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction and is a fellow of the
American Society for MOHS Surgery.
During the surgery, the cancerous tissue is surgically removed and a microscope is used to check the margins and base of the tissue to ensure that all cancer cells have been excised. With the use of the microscope, Dr. Sax is able to pinpoint the areas which are cancerous and remove only those tissues, enabling him to save as much healthy tissue as possible and to prevent excessive scarring.
The surgery is generally outpatient and performed under a local anesthesia. Only under rare circumstances does the patient need hospitalization or further surgery.
Complimentary consults are offered to discuss our procedures in detail and further assess your cosmetic concerns. Together, we can prepare a personalized plan to address all of your cosmetic concerns. Please call our office to schedule a consult.
