Botox can be used to diminish frown lines that occur along the glabella (the area between your eyebrows), crow’s feet, and upper forehead. All it takes is a few small injections during a ten minute visit and a noticeable improvement may be seen within a week. You can complete a treatment on your lunch break and results last up to four months. Botox has also been proven to be beneficial for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, or severe sweating of the underarms, which is a service that we also provide.
 Approved by the FDA, Restylane is designed to match your skin, smoothing wrinkles, sculpting lips or shaping facial contours. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane is able to perform for many months in your skin. The most common area for a Restylane treatment is the nasolabial fold (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). When used for lips or facial contouring, Restylane will add shape and volume to the area. Restylane is able to create volume under your wrinkles, which are then lifted up and smoothed out.
Since no pre-testing is required, a Restylane treatment can be performed immediately. It usually takes about 15 minutes depending on the type of correction you want. After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move the Palomar pulsed light hand piece over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that targets the pigmented lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.
Most people experience some mild temporary redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Your treatment provider will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
 MOHS Micrographic Surgery is a method of surgically removing skin cancers with microscopic control. This technique provides the highest cure rates and minimizes scarring. Dr. Sax is a recognized expert in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction and is a fellow of the
American Society for MOHS Surgery.
During the surgery, the cancerous tissue is surgically removed and a microscope is used to check the margins and base of the tissue to ensure that all cancer cells have been excised. With the use of the microscope, Dr. Sax is able to pinpoint the areas which are cancerous and remove only those tissues, enabling him to save as much healthy tissue as possible and to prevent excessive scarring.
The surgery is generally outpatient and performed under a local anesthesia. Only under rare circumstances does the patient need hospitalization or further surgery.
